This Privacy Notice explains how VON LANGEN, LLC safeguards your privacy. VON LANGEN, LLC will take all reasonable steps to protect your information and use it only for the purpose of this proceeding.
It is VON LANGEN, LLC’s policy to maintain confidentiality over your personal information. We will NOT sell, rent, or otherwise in any way provide your personal information (including your email address) to third parties for their marketing purposes for any reason whatsoever.
We do not require your Social Security number or banking information!
What personal information do we collect?

When you entrust VON LANGEN, LLC with your agreement to render services on your behalf, we require certain information, such as your name, address, phone number, and email address, as well as certain personal information, which we may not have already developed in the course of research such as your date and place of birth, date and place of marriage(s), and other information as may be necessary in order to establish your legal entitlement.

We only collect information needed to provide services or to establish your interest in this proceeding.

When we cannot verify the information we have obtained or you provide, we may ask you to send us additional information in order that we may confirm your entitlement or location. This verification process is necessary in order to safeguard you and other clients against potential fraud.

When you sign our authorization to obtain vital documents on your behalf, we request only those documents that are necessary for court purposes or in order to prove your claim.
Information about you from third parties.

When you provide us with your authority, we use authorization and fraud screening services to verify the information provided in order to protect both you and the court appointed fiduciary responsible for properly distributing assets.

We do not do a background check or obtain financial information about you from a credit bureau or a business information service such as Dun & Bradstreet.
To what parties do we disclose personal information?
Other than VON LANGEN, LLC, we only disclose information strictly for reasons necessary for proper completion and collection of your claim. Your name, location or contact information (including your email address), date of signup, and your status are made available only to our attorneys or to the party(s) responsible for properly distributing those assets to which you may be entitled.
Whenever possible, your address is not disclosed in a court file and is listed care of the attorney responsible for representing our claim. The above information as well as the amounts and number of payments you have received are not disclosed to other family members by our office. Of course, 1) the court file may contain any of the above information as public record and 2) you may choose to reveal your contact information or other information to other family members. As always, we never reveal your financial information to other family members, unless required to do so by law.

Client authorization and fraud screening services. We will use your authorization only in order to obtain documentation to verify information developed during our research process and match the information that you supplied to us that must be provided to the court appointed fiduciary in order to prove your claim and effect payment.

Other corporate entities or database compilers. We may disclose personal information only to other corporate entities to process payments to you and related to payment transactions made to you, as well as to investigate potential fraud, illegal activities or violation of the VON LANGEN, LLC agreement. We do not provide information to database compilers for any reason whatsoever. For example, we do not upload to the various family history networks or websites any genealogical data collected by our office during our investigations nor do we publish our research findings in connection with our cases with the exception of any required reports or affidavits as may be necessary in order to establish your entitlement.

Companies with whom we jointly offer services. If you sign up for representation by VON LANGEN, LLC, we may share your information only as necessary in order to prove your claim and complete the entitlement proceedings subject to the applicable terms of service and privacy policies.

Agencies or authorities with whom we are legally required to cooperate. We may disclose information during the investigation of fraud or illegal activity. For example, we may disclose personal information in response to a subpoena, warrant, court order, or comparable legal process.
Personal information about you is used only to facilitate a payment transaction to you as a result of our investigation and the VON LANGEN, LLC Agreement.
